Itinerary

Start the first day at 9 a.m. after everyone has had a hearty breakfast, with Hanoi as the starting point for the motorbike tour to Northern Vietnam. Take a taxi, and the entire group will meet at a spot on the outskirts of the city. The first destination, according to the tour program, is Yen Bai Province. This area is perfect for sightseeing, offering peaceful rural scenery with vast rice paddies. On both sides of the road, you’ll see enormous, towering limestone mountains. Our plan is to arrive in Yen Bai before nightfall and stay overnight at the Red River (Song Hong) hotel. Enjoy a full dinner to recharge after a long day of travel and prepare for the next off-road adventure.

On the second day, the crew will tackle the challenge of conquering the towering mountains where the H’Mong people live. Spend some time visiting the valleys beneath Khau Pha Pass and Tu Le Pass, surrounded by extensive rice paddy fields.
Continue to Mu Cang Chai after crossing Khau Pha Pass, famous for its stunning and iconic rice terraces in Northern Vietnam. Conclude the second day of the Northern Vietnam Motorbike Tours by staying at a hotel in the heart of a city named after a beautiful natural spot, Dream Spring (Suoi Mo), known for its harmonious streams and waterfalls. The next day, the group of riders will continue their journey on National Route 32, tackling tall mountains once again. They'll head to the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range, known for its captivating beauty. As you ride around this impressive range, you'll overlook dense forests. Look up, and you'll see Vietnam's highest peaks, often covered in drifting clouds. Don't miss the challenging O Quy Ho Pass, one of the longest and most dangerous mountain passes in Northern Vietnam, standing at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. The next destination is Sa Pa town. Take some time to explore the town before heading back to Hoang Long Hotel for a good night's sleep.

Leaving Sa Pa, let's visit the final highlight of the Northern off-road motorbike tour: the Pho Rang vestige site. From there, head towards the Chinese border to experience life at the frontier. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
Pho Rang town, located over 30 km northwest of Hanoi, is the political, economic, and cultural center of Bao Yen District, Lao Cai Province. The town is surrounded by deep pools to the north and west, rocky areas to the south, and the Chay River flowing to the east.
While in Pho Rang, try highland fruits like apricots, mangoes, lychees, and jackfruits. If you enjoy alcohol, sample the town’s special distilled drink. All the local restaurants serve sticky rice wrapped in seven layers of leaves or rice cooked in a bamboo tube.

Backpackers, make sure to visit Dong Van. The tourist hot spots like the Vuong Palace, Rock Plateau, and especially Heaven’s Gate will amaze you. Besides the scenic sites, Dong Van is also a food paradise, offering unique specialties like mint honey, traditionally stuffed pancakes, and Shan Tuyet tea.
Start your cold mornings with warm, traditionally stuffed pancakes and a cup of hot water. Shan Tuyet tea, a common plant in Ha Giang, is grown naturally by the locals, ensuring it is clean and fresh. Ha Giang mint honey is sweet and mild, known for its health benefits. Despite any fatigue, let's stay determined; we still have one more day of riding ahead of us. As we approach the downtown area, you'll notice the city bustling with activity. Let's regroup in Hanoi at 5 a.m.
