Itinerary
At 8 a.m., we'll pick you up at your hotel and head to BM Travel Adventure’s Office for a quick safety briefing. It's crucial to ensure our bikes are in top condition for the rugged roads ahead, so make sure yours is thoroughly checked before we set off.
Our journey begins with a scenic 4-kilometer ride along the Red River. Along the riverbank, you'll experience a bustling miniature world with small boats, fishing villages, and vast cornfields.
We'll continue for another 60 kilometers, enjoying the charming and peaceful scenery until we reach Trung Ha Bridge. After lunch, we'll enter Xuan Son National Park, where we'll navigate through a mix of mild back-road and off-road tracks, crossing two long passes on our way to Nghia Lo township.
Nghia Lo welcomes us with pleasant weather, unique cultural features, and several revolutionary relics to explore, including the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area and Con Nghia Lo. We'll also have the chance to visit the bustling Muong Lo markets. Our accommodation for the night will be at the Muong Lo hotel.
After breakfast, embark on a 50km journey to Tu Le, navigating winding roads through pristine landscapes and vast rice terraces. If the weather permits, take a coffee break to prepare for the upcoming off-road trail. Return along the same route to National Route 32 for a photo opportunity at the Parasailing site. From this vantage point, enjoy panoramic views of the Tu Le terrace valley and the base of Khau Pha Pass, a rugged 32km stretch known as the longest pass on National Route 32.
Khau Pha Pass is dotted with attractions like La Pan Tan, Mu Cang Chai, Tu Le, Che Cu Nha, and Nam Co. Take some time to explore La Pan Tan mountain peak before heading to Mu Cang Chai Town for a worry-free lunch. Next, journey towards O Quy Ho Pass, renowned as one of the longest and most challenging mountain passes in Vietnam's northwest. Pause briefly to admire the twilight before reaching Sapa. Spend the night at the tranquil Cat Cat View Hotel in this rural town.

Begin your day by exploring the most remarkable sights in Sapa on your motorbike. Start your journey by heading to Sin Chai valley, then continue to Cat Cat village. The road from Y Linh Ho to Ta Van village is newly paved with gentle curves and stunning scenery on both sides.
For a thrilling off-road adventure with better views, take the small winding road alongside provincial road 153 to reach Bac Ha Market – a vibrant traditional highland market bursting with colors and flavors. Today's journey will take us to the awe-inspiring land of Ha Giang, where grandeur and wonders await. Among its remarkable attractions is the Hoang Su Phi rice terrace, renowned nationwide for its beauty. Additionally, we'll encounter extreme off-road routes, towering cloud-kissed mountains, and challenging mountain passes.
After departing from Bac Ha town, we have two route options. The first is via the old provincial road 153, leading to Coc Pai town in Xin Man District, known for hosting the highest ethnic market in Ha Giang. Alternatively, we can embark on a rugged 40 km off-road adventure.
Following a brief coffee break, we'll tackle another 20 km off-road stretch to reach Phung village, then proceed to Vinh Quang town for lunch. As we traverse Hoang Su Phi's rice terraced valley, we face a choice: continue off-road to Ha Giang or take National Highway 2 for a quicker route. Opting for the latter, we'll journey towards Ha Giang city.
Ha Giang, renowned for its stunning buckwheat flowers, boasts even more natural beauty, including majestic peaks like Chieu Lau Thi and Tay Con Linh, as well as the iconic Ma Pi Leng Pass. We'll conclude our day at Truong Xuan Resort, where you can unwind after a long day of driving.

Let's kick off the day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on our Ha Giang adventure. Today, we have the option to explore off-road, but don't worry, the terrain isn't too tough, allowing us to soak in the stunning scenery at a leisurely pace.
As we cruise along, we'll pass through lush forests and encounter a breathtaking waterfall. We'll make a pit stop at Lung Tam, a traditional weaving village, for some quick photos.
One highlight of our journey is Quan Ba valley, which we absolutely can't miss. From an altitude of almost 8000 meters, Quan Ba treats us to sweeping views of forested hills, meadows, hidden caves, vibrant orchids, and fruit trees.
We can choose to stick to the main road and check out the Yen Minh pine forest in Yen Minh town, or take a detour off-road for about 20 kilometers to experience the raw beauty and daily life of the locals.
After a satisfying lunch in Yen Minh town, we'll continue our journey to Dong Van, the capital of the Rock Plateau. Here, we'll visit an ancient lord-house belonging to the H'Mong people.
Next up, we'll tackle one of Vietnam's most challenging passes – Ma Pi Leng – along the Happy Road and Nho Que River. Known as the most dangerous pass in Northern Vietnam, Ma Pi Leng offers breathtaking views, especially during dusk.

Cao Bang Province, our destination for the day, is known for its many tourist attractions: Ban Gioc Waterfall, Nguom Ngao Cave, Pac Po Cave, Lenin Stream, and the 15-storeyed pass curve. Our team will enjoy a fantastic ride along the route, featuring a mix of on-road and off-road sections, with stunning scenery all around. Depending on the weather and your riding skills, we'll choose the most suitable and exciting route for you. Our planned route is designed for experienced riders in good weather conditions, but we always have alternative plans ready.
Our first stop is the Khau Vai Love Market on the outskirts of Meo Vac commune. In addition to trading goods, this market is a meeting place for lovers who can't be together year-round. Then, we'll navigate a challenging route with lots of twists and turns, uphill climbs, and downhill descents to reach Bao Lac in Cao Bang province. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Bao Lac town. As we head towards Quang Uyen, we'll be treated to breathtaking and unique landscapes. Continuing westward along the Vietnam-China border, we'll be surrounded by limestone mountains, lush cornfields, and quaint villages. Finally, we'll check in at a homestay in Cao Bang.

Today, we'll travel 210 kilometers, which will take about seven hours, to explore the stunning landscapes of Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces. In Cao Bang, you'll be amazed by the breathtaking Ban Gioc waterfall, where jade-green water cascades down in multiple tiers into a large lake below. You can take a boat ride or swim near the waterfall, enjoying the natural beauty without the crowds of tourists. Keep in mind that the Vietnam-China border runs through the waterfall, so you'll likely encounter many Chinese tourists here. Afterward, recharge with a cup of coffee before heading to Nguom Ngao Cave. Spend about 45 minutes exploring this famous cave, filled with countless stalactites and stalagmites of various shapes and sizes.
After lunch in Quang Uyen, we'll take a trip to Bac Son valley, renowned for its picturesque views from Na Lay peak. After leaving Bac Son, known as the valley of love and cherished memories, we have the option to take either National Highway 1 or 18 to reach Ha Long Bay. However, these are the main roads in and out of Quang Ninh province, often congested with heavy traffic. Instead, we recommend a more scenic route that leads through Khe Ro's ancient forest and follows the spiritual path west of Yen Tu to reach Ha Long.
Yen Tu nature reserve, which we pass through, spans across five communes: Thanh Son, Thanh Luan, Tuan Mau, An Lac, and Luc Son. This reserve is a nationally recognized landmark that attracts millions of visitors annually with its unique religious sites and natural beauty. Yen Tu is also a revered Buddhist site where the ancient Buddhist King Tran Nhan Tong attained enlightenment and introduced a distinct branch of Buddhism in Vietnam.
After lunch in Yen Tu, we continue our journey towards Quang Ninh city, the heart of the coal province where Ha Long city is located. By late afternoon, we will reach Ruby Hotel in Ha Long city, where you will be treated to a delicious dinner featuring fresh seafood and accompanied by refreshing beer.
