Itinerary

Your first day will be a motorbike journey from Hanoi to Mai Chau. In the morning, you will check in at a hotel in Hanoi for some preparations before embarking on the 170-km trip to Mai Chau. Following Highway 6, the fastest route to your destination, you'll have the opportunity to admire the picturesque landscapes of valleys interspersed with green rice fields and capture some stunning photos.

Before crossing Thung Khe Pass, you'll stop your motorbike to visit the ancestral land of the Muong people. Upon arriving in Mai Chau, you'll have lunch and take some time to relax. Then, you'll leave your motorcycle temporarily to walk along the Ma River, where you can enjoy the serene countryside scenery and observe the village life of the White Thai people. As night falls, you'll arrive in a Thai town for dinner featuring local dishes prepared by your host. You'll also experience regional culture through music exhibitions.

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast provided by your Thai host before preparing for the next leg of your journey to Son La. Setting off, you'll traverse a 200 km route, passing through local towns where you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the daily lives of the Hmong and Black Thai ethnic groups. En route, you'll stop at a local restaurant for lunch before reaching one of the most scenic spots in the area – the Moc Chau tea plantation. Here, you'll delight in moments of relaxation amidst the undulating tea hills, with the aroma of tea permeating the air. Finally, you'll conclude the day by checking into a hotel in Son La.

The first route follows Highway 6, offering a relatively smooth ride over a reasonable distance. Alternatively, you can opt for route DT107, although it's noted to be less smooth than the first option. For those seeking a more adventurous ride, there's the off-road trail, popular among motorcycle enthusiasts for its challenging terrain.

After covering a 200-km stretch, take a break for lunch before embarking on an excursion to Pha Din, known for its winding roads and sharp bends. By evening, you'll arrive at Dien Bien Phu, a historic site that promises to captivate history enthusiasts. Conclude the day with a well-deserved rest at the hotel.

After refueling with a meal and taking a brief rest, prepare for the 150-km journey to Lai Chau. As you ride your motorbike along the scenic Nam Na River, immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. Make short stops at Dzao and H'mong towns along the way for some rejuvenation. By early evening, you'll reach Lai Chau. Indulge in local cuisine and engage in any interesting activities available before retiring for the night at the hotel.

Don't miss the chance to capture breathtaking moments on the journey from Lai Chau to Sapa. Covering a distance of 100 km, this route offers picturesque streams, stunning valleys, and towering mountains, making it ideal for memorable photography opportunities. Along the 25-mile stretch to Sapa, you'll pass through ChinCo and Tram Ton Passes, admire the beauty of Thác Bạc (Silver Waterfall) and Cổng Trời (Heaven Gate), and visit the unique destination of Fansipan, known as the top of Indochina. Arriving in Sapa as the evening sets in, you'll enjoy dinner, engage in activities of your choice, and spend the night at the hotel.
