After breakfast, we embark on our journey by following the route through Na Pho and Highway 15 until we merge onto Highway 6 in Tong Dau. Continuing along Route 6, we eventually reach Highway 14 in Phieng Luong. From there, we traverse Highway 43 until we arrive at Phu Yen. Today's route poses a challenge, especially for novice bikers, as it comprises rocky, slippery, and muddy single tracks. However, it offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature and immerse ourselves in the enchanting beauty of Phu Yen, situated at an elevation of over 1000 meters. With its breathtaking landscape resembling a magnificent piece of artwork, Phu Yen boasts towering mountains, lush green forests, and picturesque valleys. As we descend, we are treated to vibrant rice fields and cornfields, adding to the charm of the surroundings.
Take the time to explore "General Vo Nguyen Giap," a historic forest located in Gia Phu Commune, bearing significant military history. The forest, named in honor of the revered national hero, serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who fought for the nation. Here, amidst the serene surroundings, you can listen to the soothing sounds of nature – the babbling streams, chirping birds, buzzing insects, and rustling leaves. As our second day draws to a close, we are left with unforgettable memories of our time in the mystical land of Phu Yen. We retire for the night at a comfortable hotel.
