Begin your day with a delicious breakfast in Sapa before embarking on the journey to Mu Cang Chai, renowned for its breathtaking terraced rice fields and traditional lifestyle. The ride from Sapa to Mu Cang Chai takes over 6 hours, following Highway 32 and passing through the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, home to Fansipan, Vietnam's highest peak at 3,142 meters above sea level. The scenery along the way is so stunning that you'll want to stop frequently to capture amazing photos.
Continue riding on winding roads until you reach the vast terraced fields, signaling your arrival in Mu Cang Chai. Once known as “The forgotten land in Vietnam” due to its remote location, Mu Cang Chai has gained popularity among domestic and international tourists, yet it still retains its pristine beauty and unique cultural features. Each season offers its charm, but the best time to visit is autumn (late September to mid-October), when the fields are blanketed in the golden hue of ripe rice.
Next, we will cross Khau Pha Pass, one of the four great passes in Northwest Vietnam, to admire the spectacular terraced fields from above and explore the peaceful local villages. In the evening, we'll return to the hotel for dinner and rest, concluding the first day of our 3-day motorbike tour from Sapa to Mu Cang Chai with unforgettable experiences.
