Itinerary

To reach Mai Chau from Hanoi, our crew will take the route through Hanoi – Xuan Mai – Luong Son – Hoa Binh – Muong Khen – Mai Chau. This journey follows Highway 6, which is the shortest and fastest way to get to Mai Chau.

We expect to arrive at Thung Khe Pass by 11:30 PM. Here, our group can stop to enjoy some boiled corn, take souvenir photos, and then continue on our way.

Although the road is quite steep and may tire you out or cause sunstroke, it will undoubtedly be an unforgettable memory when you join the 7-day Northwest Vietnam loop with Vietnam Motorbike Tour guided. As we proceed towards Northwest Vietnam, the beauty of the forest will leave you awestruck. The flowers might be blooming at this time, making the scenery even more appealing and romantic.
Tonight, we will stay at a standard-quality hotel in Mai Chau.

The second day of our tour begins with the goal of reaching our final destination for the day, Phu Yen. After bidding farewell to our gracious host in Mau Chai, we continue our road trip through Vietnam on an easy-to-ride road. This single-track provincial road offers tranquil and peaceful scenery on both sides, making for a pleasant journey.

As we approach Phu Yen, we will encounter the Hua Tat Pass. You will surely be amazed by the stunning scenery along the pass, with high mountains on one side and a valley filled with plum trees on the other. Traffic is sparse, and you might only occasionally see a group of ethnic Hmong girls walking and playing until the end of the pass.

Next, we turn onto road no. 43 and cross the Da River by ferry. We can enjoy lunch at Hua Tat Pass before continuing our journey.

With any luck, our team will arrive in Phu Yen by the afternoon and spend a restful night there.

Today is from Phu Yen, passing Lung Lo pass to get on highway no 37 then reach Mu Cang Chai.

With a length of 15km, 57 years ago, Lung Lo Pass was the arterial road connecting to Road no. 6 to transfer troops and supply food to serve the resistance, defeating the Dien Bien Phu stronghold during the war.

Standing at the windy mountain peaks, you will be overwhelmed by the pristine, majestic beauty of the green valleys, terraced fields, and ripe yellow corn fields dotted by cattle farms lying at the foot of mountains.

When lunchtime ends, our crew gathers and carries on riding the motorcycle to Mu Cang Chai. We are expected to arrive at the end of the evening. Enjoy the fresh atmosphere here with a fine dinner at a hotel in Mu Cang Chai.

Accommodations: Hotel
Distance: 200 km
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After replenishing our energy with breakfast in Mu Cang Chai, our crew will head directly to the road known as QI37, which leads to O Quy Ho Pass. If we arrive at the pass early, we can enjoy views of towering mountains shrouded in white clouds and take a short ride to visit Silver Falls before commencing our Sapa motorbike tour.

Sapa is renowned not only for its natural beauty but also for its cultural richness and vibrant festivals. The highland market sessions in Sapa, held every Sunday, serve as a gathering place for ethnic boys and girls.

They express their feelings through enchanting flute melodies, while the girls showcase their grace through captivating dances in the most beautiful costumes. At the weekly market in Sapa, you can join in games like cotton ball throwing and pao, among other fun activities amidst a lively crowd. You can also select handcrafted items made by the skilled artisans here as souvenirs.

Spending a day exploring and discovering Sapa might leave you exhausted, so a night’s rest in a hotel here is a good idea before our departure tomorrow.

Today's road trip covers a distance of 240 km. On the fifth day of the 7-day Off-road Northern Vietnam Motorbike Tour towards the Northwest regions, we will ride from Sapa down to Lao Cai city, reaching the Chinese border. The Vietnam-China border offers a fascinating sight with bustling goods exchanges between people from both countries. The coffee here is also noteworthy for its good taste and low price. After leaving the border, we will ride to Viet Quang and continue towards Ha Giang.

During the journey to Viet Quang, you'll often come across remote villages and local markets. We will stop for lunch in Viet Quang and aim to reach Ha Giang by late afternoon.

The fifth day of our 7-day off-road Vietnam Motorbike Tour towards the Northwest regions concludes with a delightful dinner and an overnight stay at a homestay hosted by an ethnic family in Ha Giang.

Accommodations: Homestay
Distance: 240 km

From Ha Giang, our group plans to go to Vu Linh with a total distance of about 180 km. Before that, we will refuel with a hearty breakfast in Ha Giang.

On the way to Vu Linh, the group will pass Thac Ba Lake. From here, we will follow a small road with rows of palm trees on both sides, along with majestic mountains. Going a few more kilometers, the road becomes better and wider with stunning views.

When approaching Vu Linh, after about 6 hours on motorbikes, our group will arrive at Vu Linh and spend the 6th night here, where we will be welcomed by the hospitality of the locals.

Accommodations: Homestay
Distance: 180 km
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

On the last day to return to our city, there are several ways of returning. However, it seems that they are busy and crowded.

As a suggestion from the experience of the Vietnam Motorbike Tour guide, we recommend to you a much safer and shorter road that will pass through a green tea plantation. We promise it will be a part of your best off-road Vietnam Motorcycle Tour. Only the last 15km close to the city center is busy and slow.
